Our roots began in 1953 when William Koehl donated his farmland to the United Church of Christ with the express wish that it be used to serve the elderly. Just like Koehl, other contributors believed in the value of giving and wished to leave a legacy for future generations. In 1979, the Cedar Community Foundation was established to help ensure our mission continues for future generations.
The Foundation is fortunate to receive financial support from generous individuals, corporations, foundations and charitable trusts. There are many ways you can join them in helping Cedar Community meet the spiritual, physical, social, emotional and financial needs of those we serve:
Gifts of Cash, personal check or credit cards can provide immediate help for programs, services and equipment. Cash funds raised from our 2006 “Nurturing a Vision” campaign were used to establish Cedar Community’s Home Health and Hospice. You can even donate on-line by clicking below.
Gifts in Memory or in Tribute are a meaningful way to honor the memory of a loved one or acknowledge someone special on a birthday, anniversary or other occasion.
Gifts-In-Kind include services or items such as equipment, craft supplies, books or food for an event and are always welcomed.
Gifts of Securities or Other Assets include appreciated stock, securities or real estate and can be sold or invested for the Foundation’s long-term benefit.
A Legacy League Gift or Charitable Planned Giving enables you to make a significant gift to the Foundation that would otherwise seem impossible. Gifts managed through your will or via gift annuities, charitable trusts or life insurance plans may offer a number of advantages: They can help secure a guaranteed income for life for you or your loved one, and earn significant tax advantages.
