Providing a “continuum of care” simply means Cedar Community is prepared to offer a full spectrum of the choices you want, combined with the services you need, as time progresses.

Independent living:

What would you like to do today?

Profile at entrance:
  • Minimum age 62.
  • May still be working, consulting or learning a new hobby.
  • Most either don’t want to or find it difficult to maintain a home.
  • May enjoy travel: They simply lock their door and off they go!
  • Many prefer onsite conveniences to driving to run everyday errands.
  • May be managing their own medical conditions that require occasional intervention and/or monitoring.
  • Length of residency ranges from 2-25+ years!
Short-term rehabilitation:

Your bridge to recovery.

Profile at entrance:
  • May be Cedar Community resident or live in greater community.
  • Minimum age 18.
  • Recovering from surgery, illness or injury that required hospitalization and not quite ready to return home.
  • Receiving recuperative skilled nursing care with or without occupational, physical or speech therapy.
  • Average length of stay ranges from five to 100 days.
Assisted living:

There when you need a hand.

Profile at entrance:
  • Minimum age 62.
  • Retains independence and privacy but requires some assistance with meals, medications, daily tasks, health, etc.
  • Incidents that prompt transition include medication error, fall or injury, poor nutrition or loneliness/inactivity.
  • Developed in mid-‘80s as less expensive alternative to skilled nursing.
  • Average residency 1-5+ years.
Skilled nursing:

The right care at the right time.

Profile at entrance:
  • Minimum age 62.
  • Desires independence and privacy but requires extensive nursing and/or daily task assistance.
  • Care covered by Medicare/Medicaid or private insurance.
