Rosemary Schrauth, OTR, from Cedar Haven Rehabilitation Services at Cedar Community will present Keeping the “Independence” in Independent Living on Tuesday, April 13 at 3 p.m. at Cedar Ridge’s Performance Square, 113 Cedar Ridge Drive, West Bend. She will discuss how using correct methods and/or equipment while performing daily tasks can help people remain independent as well as prevent wear and tear on their bodies. Attendees will learn about various specialized equipment which can help them continue to do those things which they love to do, and to remain independent in tasks which are difficult to perform. A representative from the Independence Store, durable medical equipment, will also be available during the presentation to answer any questions.
The Independence Store is open at Cedar Lake Health and Rehabilitation Center at Cedar Community’s main campus. The Independence Store offers a variety of mobility aids, light-weight transport chairs, bath aids, splints, braces and incontinence products in the showcase located right at the main entrance. Wheelchairs can be ordered in any size. Items on display in the pharmacy including grab bars, items for arthritic hands, cold/hot packs and kitchen aides to make life easier and promote independence.
