Dee Brown

Board Member, Cedar Community Board of Directors

Dee Brown serves as a board member for Cedar Community’s Board of Directors, bringing more than 25 years of human resources leadership experience across insurance, senior living, and other highly regulated service industries.

Dee is senior vice president and chief human resources officer at West Bend Insurance Company. In her current role, she leads talent strategy, including talent development, total rewards, talent management, talent acquisition, culture, and associate experience.

Earlier in her career, Dee worked at Allstate Insurance and later served as a human resources executive at Kemper Insurance, where she focused on enhancing the employee experience. She also served as chief human resources officer for Covenant Living Communities and Services, a senior living organization, where she led initiatives focused on strengthening culture, engagement, and the overall employee experience.

Dee earned a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Leadership and a Master of Arts in Organization Development from Roosevelt University.

Her board and volunteer experience includes service on the board of directors for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland & Northwest Indiana, where she serves as governance chair.

Through her experience in human resources, senior living, workforce strategy, leadership development, succession planning, governance, and organizational effectiveness, Dee brings a valuable perspective to Cedar Community’s long-term mission. Her background supports engaged, mission-driven cultures that strengthen both the employee experience and the care and service provided to residents and families.
