Administrator and Vice President of Clinical Services, Cedar Community

Kelli DeRuyter serves as administrator and vice president of clinical services at Cedar Community, where she supports skilled nursing, pharmacy, therapy, health information management, central supply, and risk management. She has served Cedar Community for 34 years and brings extensive experience in long-term care, post-acute services, skilled nursing operations, and clinical leadership.

Kelli’s career in aging services began when she was 16 years old, working as a caregiver in assisted living. After becoming a registered nurse in 1992, she joined Cedar Community and continued to grow through a variety of clinical and leadership roles, including charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, Medicare nurse, director of nursing, and nursing home administrator.

Throughout her career, Kelli has focused on providing high-quality care and services for older adults. She has helped lead the development of Cedar Community’s post-acute service line, supporting rehabilitation services for individuals who need skilled care after an illness, injury, surgery, or hospital stay. She also supports education, technology, and risk-based services that help Cedar Community respond to the changing needs of the aging population.

Kelli earned her associate degree in nursing in 1992 and completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1994. She became a licensed nursing home administrator in 2014 and earned a Certification in Professional Aging Services Risk Management in 2024.

Her areas of expertise include Medicare and Medicaid operations, long-term care services, post-acute services, skilled nursing operations, clinical policy management, and risk management. Kelli also contributes to the broader nursing and senior care field through advisory roles with the Moraine Park Technical College Nursing Advisory Council and the Arizona College of Nursing Advisory Board.

Kelli’s leadership reflects a lifelong commitment to aging services and Cedar Community’s mission of providing compassionate, high-quality care for those it serves.
