Nicole Pretre, CPG
President and CEO, Cedar Community
Nicole Pretre serves as president and CEO of Cedar Community, where she oversees all areas of the organization’s services. She has served Cedar Community for 14 years, including five years as CEO.
Nicole brings extensive leadership experience in aging services, nonprofit strategy, senior living growth, philanthropy, marketing, and organizational development. She was drawn to aging services in the early 2000s after finding a strong sense of fulfillment and purpose in serving older adults.
During her tenure at Cedar Community, Nicole has helped lead major initiatives including the opening of The Cottages memory care assisted living, the 2017 rebrand of Cedar Community, the Cedar Ridge Homes development, the redevelopment of the philanthropy program, the lease of Cedar Valley to United Church Camps, Inc., the repositioning of the Cedar Lake Campus, a 100-acre conservation easement, and the acquisition of The Gardens and The Heritage. She has also been part of more than $150 million in development and capital improvements at Cedar Community.
Nicole is a credentialed gerontologist. She holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, a master’s degree in gerontology from UMass Boston, and a certificate in fundraising management from the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy.
Her leadership and volunteer experience includes service with the LeadingAge National Board of Directors, LeadingAge Wisconsin Board of Directors, National Investment Centers for Seniors Housing Program Committee, Economic Development Washington County, United Way of Washington County, West Bend Area Chamber of Commerce, and West Bend Leadership.
Through her leadership, Nicole supports Cedar Community’s strategic growth while keeping its nonprofit mission and commitment to older adults at the center of its work.
