Joel Stiller is an experienced hospitality professional whose dynamic career journey includes time in the U.S. Army and decades in the restaurant industry. His military service, which took him to 17 countries, shaped his leadership skills and adaptability—qualities he brings to his role at Cedar Community.
After years managing restaurant operations and large-scale catering events, Joel transitioned to senior care organizations, where he discovered a passion for creating meaningful dining experiences. This shift not only allowed him to connect with people in a more personal way but also aligned with his desire for better work-life balance. That journey ultimately led him to Cedar Community, where he found the perfect fit.
At Top of the Ridge, Joel manages all aspects of restaurant operations, including budgeting, catering coordination, staff training, and creating special dining experiences. He enjoys collaborating with the chefs to develop menus that enhance the dining experience and is dedicated to building a cohesive team. Joel encourages cross-training among staff, fostering teamwork and skill development.
“My goal is for everyone to walk away having learned something new. I always tell my team that this is a great place to work—regular work schedule and paycheck, home-life balance, no super-long hours, and flexibility,” says Joel.
Looking ahead, Joel aims to continue elevating the dining experience with themed events and special occasion dinners, creating memorable moments for guests and residents.
