Lori Stedl, payroll manager at Cedar Community, joined the team in April 2021. Lori’s decision to pursue a role at Cedar Community was inspired by her brother, a West Bend firefighter, who had witnessed the exceptional care Cedar Community provides. He mentioned that if their mother ever needed care, they would choose Cedar Community due to its high standards. This conversation led Lori to apply for the payroll manager position, and we’re so glad she did.
In her role, Lori manages all aspects of payroll, from helping with timecards to processing paychecks. She ensures accuracy in payroll processing by approving timecards, adjusting discrepancies, and following up with team members. “A lot of auditing and a lot of deadlines,” says Lori, highlighting the meticulous nature of her work. Lori also oversees Cedar Community’s benefit packages, taking the time to meet with all new employees to explain their perks in detail. “During orientation, new team members get a lot of information. I want to make sure they understand what choices they have, and all the extra benefits Cedar Community offers like an onsite occupational health clinic,” says Lori.
Lori is known for her willingness to help out wherever needed in her department. “I enjoy the variety and different hats I am able to wear,” she says. “My job keeps me on my toes and learning.” She brings a positive, can-do attitude to her work, and her dedication to her role is evident. Outside of her work at Cedar Community, Lori enjoys riding her Harley-Davidson, embracing the freedom and adventure that comes with it.
