What’s the difference between independent living and independent living plus at Cedar Community?
Independent living plus allows you to remain independent but offers additional services including weekly housekeeping, a restaurant‑style meal plan, and the ability to add personal care services as needed, so you can remain in the same residence even if your support needs change.
What amenities are included?
Independent living plus apartments have walk‑in showers and kitchenettes; third‑floor units include ovens. A weekly housekeeping service, a restaurant‑quality meal plan (three meals per day), internet, cable, telephone, and individual control of heating and cooling are all included. Utilities and maintenance are provided, and residents can use an off‑site indoor pool and spa and artisan studios for woodworking, stained glass, pottery, and ceramics.
What services can I add later?
Residents can add medication managment, personal care, or nursing services without relocating. This flexibility allows you to age in place in the comfort of your apartment.
Are meals included? Can I cook?
Yes. Three meals a day are provided in a restaurant‑style dining room, but your kitchenette allows you to prepare snacks or light meals on your own.
What social and recreational opportunities are available?
Independent living plus residents have full access to campus amenities including walking paths and lake activities, clubs and classes, volunteer programs, fitness classes, libraries, onsite pharmacy, café, and gift shop.
