Frequently Asked Questions

What does short‑term rehabilitation at Cedar Community involve?

Rehabilitation helps individuals regain strength and independence after surgery, illness, or injury. Cedar Community’s program provides daily physical, occupational, and speech therapy, focusing on goals like walking, balance, strength, and activities of daily living. Therapy is tailored to each patient’s needs.

How is Cedar Community’s rehabilitation different from hospital rehabilitation?

Hospital rehab tends to be more clinical and short. Cedar Community’s rehab takes place in a home‑like environment with access to community amenities. Therapy sessions are coordinated around resident needs and a comfortable living space encourages rest and recovery.

Who is a candidate for rehabilitation and how long does it last?

Candidates include those recovering from hip or knee replacements, strokes, heart surgeries, fractures, or serious illnesses. Stays generally range from one to four weeks depending on medical needs and insurance coverage. Cedar Community’s care team develops a personalized plan and adjusts it as progress is made.

What should patients expect during a typical rehabilitation day?

Patients attend scheduled therapy sessions and also work on exercises independently. Nursing staff assists with medication, meals, and personal care. There is time for rest and participation in social activities, if desired.

How do I arrange rehabilitation and is it covered by insurance?

A physician referral is typically needed to begin rehabilitation. Cedar Community works with Medicare and other insurers. The admissions team can confirm coverage and eligibility and help arrange an assessment.
